One lone pine amidst the aspens. The foliage would gradually turn evergreen as I ascended and then disappear as I passed the treeline at about 11k.

Looking back down canyon from the trail. There was quite a bit of elevation gain on the early part of this trail. The reese river valley is in the distance beyond the trailhead.

Almost to the saddle at the top of the canyon. There was a light dusting of snow on most of the north facing slopes, but the southern aspects were dry.

No trailsign, but I believe this was the junction with the Toiyable Crest trail. The TCT was well cairned for the portion that I traversed. Headed south down the TCT.

The TCT crossed the canyontop saddle and then dropped sharply down into a drainage on the far side.

Heading down into the far side drainage, giving up some hard gained elevation that would need to be regained on the far side of the valley. Last comment 10/31/2007.

A barely legible trailsign at a trail junction at the bottom of the canyon. I think it says "Arc Dome"

Looking back at the valley and the and the trail I had decended from a bit up the other side. The trail on the far side of the canyon was north-facing and had a few inches of dry powdery snow.

Above the treeline now and following the trail up the left side of a rainwash. Quite a wind and unlike two weeks ago I was properly dressed for the conditions.
