Leaving the PCT for the spur trail heading up to Basin.

Uh oh. Spotted the storm barreling down from the north a few minutes before it hit.

Continuing upward along the Basin Peak trail. There were patches of tree cover along several portions of the trail.

The storm hit about 5 minutes later with sleet/snow and some gusting winds.

The snow started to lay as I increased elevation.

Not really enough to accumulate a solid layer, but enough to tell that it had snowed.

The trail took a long (seemingly unnecessary) switchback to the north before turning back to scale the ridge. I might have headed on a more direct route, but visibility in the storm was extremely poor.

The last 100 yards to the Basin summit, which was completely engulfed in clouds at this point.
