The registry book was brand new and already had tons of entries.

The view towards Castle Peak from Basin Peak- which looked suprisingly like the view from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Bundled up against the sub-gale force winds whipping across the ridge. Could have used my ski goggles today :)

Starting the traverse over to Castle. I debated whether or not to do this w/ the conditions, but I figured I could always bail out down to Round Meadow if I started having trouble.

No longer snowing, but the still under complete cloud cover with about 10-20 yards of visibility. The trail along the ridge was easy to follow tho.

A couple times the clouds parted long enough for a glimpse down to Round Meadow below.

One of these bumps along the ridgeline was Peak 8780, which from my GPS tracks I apparently passed right over.
