Topo and GPS tracks of today's 25-26 mile clockwise route from Big Basin park HQ. Didn't get GPS reception till the 2nd half of the day (or more accurately- Garmin decided that I was in the middle of the Pacific until it was able to get a better signal on the ridgetops)

First one in the park again today. (One space left of my one from last week)

Started out towards Gazos Creek Road but it was colder than I had expected and I went back to fetch my jacket from the car.

The road crossed Waddell Creek and then headed up to this junction with the Middle Ridge Road. This junction is a few yards down the road from the Sunset Trail junction. I had last been on this section of Gazos last fall when I mistakenly took the Dool trail to the ridge.

There was ample evidence of the damage from last weekend's major storm. Down branches and debris were abundant on the trails.

Noticed smoke from this offtrail smoldering log. I think that this was the result of the prescribed burns that were done in this area recently.

Gazos Creek headed steadily downhill from the Middle Ridge junction until it crossed West Waddell Creek.
