 Buena Vista Pass
Topo of the ~32 mile route from the Bridalveil Trailhead in the upper left. This was among the longest routes I'd ever done (and the longest at elevation) and turned into a bit of a death march by the end.

Left from the Bridalveil campground after driving from Mountain View in the morning. Hit the trail shortly after 8:30am. We were just past the longest day of the year, so I had tons of daylight to work with today.

A stretch of new growth forest about a mile from the trailhead. Passed an elderly couple near here who were one of only 3 parties that I'd encounter today.

The first trail junction a short distance from the trailhead. Route was straight through the junction.

Second trail junction with a set of sunken trailsigns. Left turn here takes one toward Ostrander Lake.

I was wondering about the lack of skeeters, but they started buzzing as soon as I started sweating. Stopped to apply an Off Towellette (great stuff) which kept them at bay for the remainder of the morning.
