Junction of the Jackson Flat and Canyon trails. I headed right here on the Canyon trail which would eventually circle around the head of the valley.

This section of trail was washed out and fairly dicey (esp given that CA state park trails are usually very well maintained). I had to crawl under that tree and then slide down the loose dirt on the other side. Kinda awkward with my ankle.

The far side of the washed out section of trail. Can't see it from the pic, but this section was pretty exposed- a slip would have meant a 50 foot slide down to the canyon bottom.
