Topo of todays ~20 mile route from Big Basin park HQ (north) to the Waddell Creek entrance. Was originally planning on making this a loop, but wasn't feeling well and decided to abort and hike out to the south.

9:00 start from the Big Basin park HQ. Didn't see anyone on the trail for the first couple of hours.

Turned north from the park HQ. This was the first time I'd been on this particular section of the trail and I accidentally took the Dool trail rather than just heading up Skyline.

Junction of the Dool and Sunset trails. Should probably of just headed back to Skyline, but instead I headed up Dool to meet with Gazos Creek Road.

A fallen redwood formed this small pool along the Syline trail. Nice hiking weather today. 50's in the morning and everything was damp from the rains from the past few days.
