The Sierras were snowed under, so I decided to kick off 2004 with a quick morning trip
down to Pinnacles. It was quite cold this morning- 38 degrees as I drove through Hollister
and standing water was iced over. I got to the park as it opened, took the trail up to the reservoir,
and then headed south toward North and South Chalone Peaks.
Trail up to the Bear Gulch reservoir. The trail was a bit icy in places, but not as bad as I had feared.

Got to the reservoir just as the sun was rising over the hills. The water surface was mirror smooth. Wish I had waited a half hour for the sun to rise a bit more so that there wouldn't be the shadow along the far shoreline.
