Topo and GPS tracks for todays 18-19 mile, ~7000ft gain loop hike out of the Cathedral Rock trailhead. Well maintained trails for all of todays route (excepting the final leg on which required travel on the road).

Charleston is the highest summit in southern NV and the 8th most prominent peak in the US. (My 2nd peak from the prominence top 10 after Whitney)

The actual South Loop trailhead was inside the picnic area, which wasn't yet open this morning. (And parking at Cathedral Rock avoids the entrance fee)

This trail runner blew past me early on. I would see him again on the Griffith summit an hour or two later.

The trail to this point had been mostly under tree cover but there were occasional filtered views across Kyle Canyon to the north.
