Topo and GPS tracks for todays 11mi 3500ft gain outing out of the Disaster Creek trailhead at the end of Clark Fork road.

Missed the trail turnoff and ended up taking a more northern approach than I originally anticipated, but in retrospect this wasn't that bad of a route.

Room for a fair number of cars at the Disaster Creek trailhead which was a stones throw back from the end of the Clark Fork road. Never saw the owners of this truck on the trail, though I suspect that they were the source of several rifle shots I heard over the course of the day.

The trail switchbacked steeply uphill for the first mile before leveling off into a more gradual ascent. Disaster Creek was off to the left for most of this initial leg.

Either this was the remains of a cattle gate or there were random folks lashing logs to trees with barbwire.

One of several small meadows on the Disaster Creek trail. Nice clear day today.

Passing through a stand of young pines. The first mile had abundant aspens which gradually disappeared with the elevation.

This field was pretty soggy (The early season storms had left enough snow to restock most of the seasonal flows) but there was a developed causeway across

This one was definitely a cattle gate. I had missed both the climbers trail and the formal trail by this point but didn't realize it.
(And the trial on this section seems to have been substantially rerouted since the topo was surveyed)
