The snowline was a couple hundred yards up the trail and I quickly gave up trying to follow the trail and just started heading peakward across the snowpack.

The ground off the snow was soggy- so I found it easier to just travel on the snow.   There was still 1-2 feet on the ground and the snow was very well consolidated.

Up on the Echo Summit, looking west.    Jack/Dicks on the left, Tallac on the right, and I think thats Phipps Peak in the back center.   Backside of Tallac was surprisingly snow free- that is probably reachable via Glen Alpine now.
