 Sunday
The sun rose much earlier than I wanted to get up. :) My tent was covered in a thin layer of frost in the morning. Despite being between Grizzly Peak and Brown Bear Pass there was no sign of bears overnight.

Hadn't really planned on doing any peakbagging, but Grizzly Peak was only a short distance away and looked more appealing than packing up my gear.

The bottom of Grizzly was firm soil and easily scaled. I angled around to the west as I started encountering the volcanic spires.

Almost to the summit about 50 minutes later. Sun rising to the east as I climbed. The rock at the top was crumbly, but there was a clean class 2 chute on the west face.

Grizzly Meadow and my tent far below. The marshy trail in heading off towards Emigrant Meadow would be my route after packing up.

The mosquitos came out around 7:30am when I was on the Grizzly Peak summit and were simply unbearable by the time I made it back to the meadow. Not a happy camper at this point :) (Click on the pic for the full sized shot, the skeeters are a bit hard to see in the smaller version)

After packing, I headed north across the marshy expanse of Grizzly Meadow. Mosquito cloud following.
