Frenchman is the prominent peak visible to the east from almost anywhere in the Las Vegas valley. (This shot is from down in Henderson)

Lake Mead Blvd ascended to a saddle between Frenchman and Sunrise Mountians. The trailhead (with parking for a half dozen or so vehicles) was near the apex of the summit.

Prepping for the hike. A truck with a couple with a dog pulled up while I was prepping and headed out just behind me. Cool this morning but not as cold as it was earlier in the week.

The Frenchman ridge has some interesting geology. (The strata in the area is the same as the rocks at the bottom of the Grand Canyon- but most notable rocks in the lowlands appeared to be beer bottle glass.)
