Deteriorating plastic summit registry. The lid had almost completely fallen apart and had been partially repaired by duct tape. Hwy 93 can be seen in the distance running along the top of this shot.

Peak 4969 unofficially named "Bard" peak. Registry placed in 1986 by the legendary Sierra Club pair of Gordon MacLeod and Barbara Lilley. Andy Zdon who authored Desert Summits is also on the page. Noone had been up here in over a year.

Looking over at Ireteba from Bard. The dip into the saddle between the two peaks wasn't too bad and the whole traverse was easy class 2.

Spirit Mountain was visibly prominent to the south for the whole afternoon. As was the Lake Mojave/Colorado River off to the east.

Up to the Ireteba summit 10 minutes later. The still snow-capped Spring Mountains were visible on the horizon way to the north. The registry is tucked into the nearer of the two summit cairns.
