Midway up the steep talus chute. The talus was quite consolidated and it was a relatively easy scramble.

Entering the gap in the ridgeline. The slope got a bit steeper before topping out.

A small meadow at about 9200ft. I should have angled left and gained Jacks south ridge, but I was a bit disoriented and opted to head right.

Heading NE around the Jacks ridge. Wasn't sure if that was Jacks up ahead (it wasn't) so I decided to head toward the ridgeline where I could get a better view of the surrounding terrain. (Could have saved myself a bit of effort had I bothered to bring a map)

Crossing a wide talus field at the headwaters of the creek I had paralleled on the ascent. The greenery indicates that there was probably water under the talus, but nothing was visible on the surface.

Looking back at Lake Aloha from the talus field. Pyramid is the prominent peak on the right. Round Top is the highpoint on the left side horizon.

As I approached the ridgeline it became obvious that the peak to the right wasn't Jacks. (And wasn't even higher than the ridge)

When I reached the edge of the ridge I got a good view over to Dicks and my days first view of Tahoe.
