 Jackson & Launtz Creek Camps
At the time I though this might be Post Summit, but after looking at the map it appears to be Peak 2753 at the end of the Cabazo Prieto ridge.

Wildflowers (Bush lupine?) were abundant along the trail today.

As the trail turned the corner and headed into the Launtz creek basin, the vegetation turned to chaparral for a brief stretch. This section was teeming with ticks and I picked off 3 after stopping for this shot. Thats either Post Summit or Mt Manual on the horizen.

On my stomach crawling through a tunnel under some low branching chaparral and devloping a distinct dislike for the Mt Manual trail. The Ceanothus were in bloom today at least.

See the trail? Neither could I. One of the numerous sections where the tread more or less disappeared into the sidehill.

Launtz Creek camp. A pretty nice spot, shame the trail to get here is in such poor shape. (A VWA article on the Launtz family can be found here)

Guess which body of water flows 10 feet from Launtz Creek camp? If you can't figure it out, this sign is here to help.

Looking upstream at Launtz creek from near the campsite. The creek crossing was easily hoppable and the trail continued toward Vado camp on the far side.
