Topo and GPS tracks for today's 7mi ~3500ft gain counterclockwise loop out of the Willow Creek drainage.
Most of the route was on unofficial trails and use trails (many of which were in excellent shape)
I had climbed just Freel and Jobs Sister via the TRT from Armstrong Pass earlier this week.
Jobs is my 15th peak from the Tahoe OGUL list.

I took the outback as far as I could back FR51, about a half mile past the point were cars were parked for the Armstrong Pass TRT access. A guy on a quad drove by as I was lacing up my gaiters (and I'd definately be needing the gaiters today)

I continued up the road for a bit, looking for a place to start heading up the ridge. Spotted this trail flagging. It didn't appear to be heading anywhere specific, but it was going in my direction so I followed it uphill.

I lost the flagging after about 50 yards and 3-4 flags and just started hoofing it up the sandy slope.

I was a bit suprised to find a very well maintained unofficial trail about a quarter mile up the slope. I didn't come back this way, but I wish I could have seen where it hit the road. Turned left to follow the route uphill. Last comment 08/17/2010.

Freel and Jobs Sister were visible through the trees to the left for much of the route up.

Someone had put a lot of work into this trail. Treadwork, erosion control, etc. (And there were no deadfalls across the trail). Making *much* better time than I had planned on

All three of today's peaks were mostly piles of gruss (sand) and the trail gradually shifted into sandy soil...

And then became sand entirely. (The compacted sand of the trail bed was *far* preferable to the slog this would otherwise have been)
