 Junipero Serra Revisited

I had originally planned on attempting the traverse from Junipero Serra over to Pinyon, but I was feeling pretty sick when I got to the ridgetop. Thus, I tempered my plans for the day and just tagged Junipero Serra.

There are better pictures of the Junipero Serra hike from my first trip to the peak.

Trailhead circa 6:30am after leaving Mountain View around 3. Full moon and nice weather. The valley was much wetter than I was expecting, and the biggest problem I had on the early trail was avoiding mud puddles.

The tractor was still there, and will probably still be there long after I'm dead and gone.

Getting light as I passed the sign at the 2 mile point. All uphill from here.

The moon hung out till well after sunrise. Beat the rising sun to the saddle by about five minutes. (Short exposure to capture the moonrise, it was actually much lighter than this shot appears)

The trail passed over to the north side of the slope, at which point there was a light amount of snow.

Toward the peak, the vegetation switched from chaparrel over to pines.

The fire lookout at the peak. Was feeling pretty nauseous at this point and didn't climb it.
