Trailhead circa 6:30am after leaving Mountain View around 3. Full moon and nice weather. The valley was much wetter than I was expecting, and the biggest problem I had on the early trail was avoiding mud puddles.

The moon hung out till well after sunrise. Beat the rising sun to the saddle by about five minutes. (Short exposure to capture the moonrise, it was actually much lighter than this shot appears)

The trail passed over to the north side of the slope, at which point there was a light amount of snow.
