Me in front of George Lake. (Head shaved again and in the process of getting a bit of sunburn) There were a couple of people fishing in the lake, but noone was catching anything.

Upper Twin lake, about a mile east of George Lake. Mosquitos stangely absent given the amount of standing water in the area. Last comment 05/16/2006.

Lower Twin Lake. Stopped here about a half hour to watch the fish jump and eat lunch.

After the lakes, the trail headed gradually upward towards Potter Pass, passing Round Meadow.

Pretty impressive that something (presubably a glacier) could have picked this rock up and dumped it at the top of this ridge.

At Potter Pass (9100ft) the trail left the wilderness area of the park for a bit. Mountain bike tracks in the sand up here.
