Ever since my unpleasant trip Kaiser in March I'd been meaning to take do a followup and give the area a another chance. My second trip went substantially better and I had my most enjoyable outing of the season. The weather was near perfect, the Kaiser high country is stunning, and the mosquitos left me alone.

Left around 5:00am for the ~4 hour drive to the trailhead. I had originally planned on just doing the 11 mile out-and-back to Kaiser Peak, but was feeling good and added the extra loop around the high country lakes through Potter Pass. The lakes were quite senic and I found myself wishing I had brought my pack for a full moon overnight stay.

All of the elevation gain was covered on the initial ascent to Kaiser Peak, leaving a nice gradual decent for the remainder of the trip. Was back at the trailhead around 4 and headed back to Mountain View with quick stop for dinner at a Shaver Lake diner.
