Parked at Curry Village after getting a 5am start from Mountain View. Hit the trail a bit before 8:30. Lots of folks at the Pines campsites.

The old Sierra Point trail starts about 50 yards from the main trail and is marked with this arrow etched into the tree. From this point the trail is obvious and doesn't present any routefinding issues.

This section is the crux of the effort. Not all that difficult to traverse, but theres a lot of loose gravel and the section is somewhat exposed. Likely one of the reasons that the park service decided to decomission the trail.

This was once an official trail, and there were still many signs of formal maintenance, such as this section of stairsteps.
