Once on the western side of Maggies, the view opened up down to the Velma Lakes region to the west. Thats Eagle Lake down below and I believe its Phipps Peak on the horizen.

The Maggies ridgetop flattened out and gradually started descending.

Tallac (w/ Peak 9110 partially blocking it) visible off to the south with the Cascade Falls creek watershed below.

Junction of the Bayview and the Eagle Lake trails. Nice new trailsigns in Desolation this season.

Descending towards Dick Lake. The terrain now open and the trail more stereotypical Desolation rocky.

Junction of the trail to Middle Velma Lake.

First look at Dicks Peak off to the SW. The trail would dip into this valley, scale the ridge on the opposite side, then hang left up to Dicks Pass.

Looking back. The right peak is Maggies north teat. The left is Peak 9195 (a ridge sister of Jakes Peak)
