Mt McAbee Overlook Loop, Big Basin
No Topo or GPS tracks for today. (The USGS quad doesn't have most of the trails marked and the tree/cloud cover was heavy enough to block my GPS signal). Today's ~12 route went clockwise from the park HQ and covered a couple trails I had yet to traverse.

Was the first one in the parking lot again this morning. No rain in the morning, but I donned full rain gear in anticipation of the inbound storm.

There was a new bridge leading from the parking lot over to the Skyline trail (or relatively new, it had been about a year since I had last passed this way)

Also new was this platform leading over what is often a muddy section of the trail

Continuing up the Skyline trail up to the top of the ridge.

Usually, I'd be heading straight over the ridge to continue down the Skyline trail but today I turned left to head south on the Middle Ridge road.

It started to drizzle for a bit but the canopy was blocking most of the rain. Fairly windy today but nowhere near the 50+ mph winds expected for tomorrows storm.
