 Miller Canyon & Carmel River
The trail decending from the Nason Cabin ridge was quite washed out in places and might have been an issue if it had been muddy.

Sign marking the junction of the Miller Canyon and Hennickson Ridge trails. The milages on this sign disagree with the milages on the sign at the Carmel River/Miller Canyon trail junction.

The trail turned to follow the creek downstream, but this waterfall (which is mentioned/pictured in Schaffer) lied a little bit upstream.

Enjoyed this next section of trail, as it headed downstream into a narrow steep walled canyon. I'd been offtrail into such canyons numerous times (usally after making a wrong turn), but this was the first time I'd seen one with a maintained trail.

The first of 20 or so crossings of the Miller Fork of the Carmel River. The crossings were mostly rock hoppable (some requiring some gymnastics) and I was able to do the first dozen or so before slipping and getting my feet wet.

Miller Canyon Camp, directly across the river from the first crossing. This, like all the campsites I would pass, was empty. That picnic table has seen better days.

A second Miller Fork crossing. Spent some time looking for a walking stick that was a) dry and b) not lying in poison oak
