 Miller Mountain, Ventana Wilderness
Into the chamise and the crawling portion of the climb. The chamise was dry and shedding which got all over everything. I wasn't able to see through the foliage, so I headed in and hoped for the best.

Emerging on hands and knees from the chamise thicket into the grassy area on the south slope of Miller Mountain. Pine Valley now visible again in the background.

The chamise thicket was the worst of it and the remainder of the route had more easily navigatible chaparral.

I followed the spine of the ridge down from the peak, which didn't really turn out to be any easier or harder than the route I had ascended. It was slightly easier to get through the chamise from above.
