Looking back at the creek from a short distance up the trail. (Same shot with greener grass and less charred trees from my last trip is here)

The Willow Ridge trail was a single track for about a half mile and then emptied out onto a firebreak. The firebreak had seen a lot of activity from the firefighting crews.

Looking back over at the charred top of the Blue Ridge (and the evil Poverty Flat road) from the firebreak section of the Willow Ridge Trail.

A good portion of the Willow Ridge trail had been obliterated and was now a 4 lane wide dozer cut. I think this was the site of one of the southern boundary intentional backfires

Back to the firebreak and then leaving it for good as the single track headed south until it reached the ridgetop.
