 Mississipi Lake Post Lick Fire
Accidentally flipped the camera into manual mode and most of the shots from the 2nd day came out horribly overexposed. Not much new in them in any case. Passed an older couple on Willow Road and a pair of young women on the ridge trial.

I was pretty much willing to do anything to avoid (the evil) Poverty Flat Road so I decided to check out the "Narrows" trail. This wasn't much of a trail and pretty much followed the creek canyon around the end of the Blue Ridge to China Hole. This required getting my feet we but avoided a up/down segment of road.

Heard a splash as I was passing China Hole and noticed this turtle trying unsuccessfully to climb out of the water onto the rock.

After the 3rd attempt the turtle gave up and swam back down to the bottom of the pool.

I opted to take the Manzanita Point single track back up (rather than Poverty Flat). This was a bit longer but much more gently graded.

Stopping to flick a tick off of my leg. I managed to avoid bites while on trail, but got bitten sometime on the way home. (Caught it on my post hike shower tick check and got it before it burrowed in enough to require plier extraction)

I heard the gobbling and it took me a bit to spot the turkeys. Not sure if these birds are permanent residents of Manzanita Point, but they've been here every time I've passed by.
