I headed down from the Saddlebag trailhead towards the trail on the valley floor. (Probably would have been easier to start at the Sawmill campground rather than up near the dam)

Soon met up with the trail which led all the way to the top of the canyon. The trail was very well ducked.

The top of the canyon ended against cliffs leading up to the ridge south of Conness. The class 2-3 route up the past was left at the top of the canyon.
