The creek soon emptied into Coyote Creek and the trail turned to follow it upstream towards China Hole.

Turned off here onto Jackass Trail. Had I had a map, I probably would have continued down Poverty Flat road. Jackass trail, mainly a shortcut up to the Blue Ridge Road, was fairly steep and mostly tree covered.
