Climbed up on this moss covered rock and stopped to eat lunch. Pop-tarts and Gatorade. Mmmmm.

This was as close to the falls as I could get without going for a swim. The pool beneath the falls looked to be quite deep (at least 7-10 feet).

Was going to scramble down to the creek, but the hillside was peppered with very oily looking poison oak shrubs. Turned back, gathered my things, and headed back up the trail.

I hadn't seen anyone all day to this point, but I passed two parties on my way up from the falls. (One of 2 mountain bikers and one large group of 10 or so). Once back at Live Oak Spring road, I continued south and eventually came to the springs.
Update: The large group was a Sierra Club outing. Link: here

One last view of Burra Burra as the trail swung over the ridge to the SW.
