Topo and GPS tracks for this Fri/Sat out and back. Trailhead was in the upper left. Took the southern varient on the way out for the two sections where my return path was not the same as the outbound route.

Packing up at the Mono Pass trailhead for the Friday evening trip up to the pass. Got a speeding ticket going up the hill from the west entrance gate. :(

As luck would have it, I was hiking directly into the rising moon. The tree cover was heavy enough that I needed the headlamp despite the moonlight. Probably wasn't a good idea to watch the 1st episode of "LOST" before heading out into the woods at night. No wind and very quiet this evening.

Packing up the tent in the morning near Summit Lake in Mono Pass. Think I was slightly inside the park (needed to be outside the park to be legal). Near freezing in the morning and I was up and going by seven.

Backtracked to the junction of the Mono and Parker Pass and cached my pack slightly off the trail. Loaded up the day pack and headed off towards Parker.

Lost the trail shortly after the junction (missed the hard left that the trail took) and ended up wandering further south than I needed to (down most of the way to Parker Pass Creek).
