On my cross country leg up, I spotted this down tree and wondered why someone had bothered to saw it down. Turned out that the trail passed right beneath it.

Back down past Middle Velma Lake an hour later and starting the climb back up the the Eagle/Bayview trail junction. Lots of dayhikers out on the trail now.
