One of two new bridges that had been added as part of the restoration project. The turnoff to the Northern Wilderness trail was just past this point.

For some reason, the Northern Wilderness trail has an enormous amount of trail ducks (or cairns). This practice is very common in Arizona, but seems to be frowned upon in CA.

The first mile or so of the NW trail is downstream from Willow Spring and had water (this water disappears underground shortly after the trail junction with the trail to the caves)

I spotted a coyote here, but it took off before I could get the camera out.
Another unnecessary trail duck along a straight section of trail. Someone has too much time on their hands.

The canyon got a bit narrower and more rocky towards the end of the route as it looped westward.

One last creekbed crossing as the trail turned abruptly south and started a steep climb out of the creek canyon. Suprisingly, I passed three parties heading down the hill as I headed upward.
