The wilderness trail headed into the chaparral and climbed steadily as it headed north. Much drier today than during my trip from last January.

After climbing steadily for about 2 miles, the trail turned east and started dropping into the North Fork Chalone Creek drainage.

The trail continued north until it reached the North Fork creekbed. Despite the recent rains, the creek was completely dry today.

The trail meadered back and forth over the creekbed. Despite the trail being listed as "unmaintained" there were an abundance of trail ducks at the creek crossing points.
