Looking back down at the Pacific Ocean. (Or what little was visible below the low cloud ceiling) There are two hikers on the trail just before the switchback that I had passed a bit earlier.

The north side of the ridge switched from the chaparral to a oak/madrone forest. Still a fair amount of downed trees on this section of trail and number of washed out sections in the trail past the forest.

Someone had done a nice job pruning the encroachment but I had to duck a bit to traverse this section of trail.
