TL
Topo and GPS tracks for today's 10.5mi 3,800' gain outing out of Hwy 190 just outside of Death Valley NP. (GPX can be downloaded from here.

Pyramid is on a bunch of lists. For me it's CAP2K 27/164, WSCL 66/283, DPS 16/95, and Zdon 37/334

Picked an arbitrary spot off the highway and prepared for the 2 miles across the open desert. Was heading for the wash to the right of the peak.

Starting across the desert. Very easy cross country for the first mile.

The ground got a bit rockier as I entered the wash proper. In general easier path was to the right (which had the benefit of also being shaded early on)

This side canyon led to the approach ridge. Unlike every other DPS peak I've done the early route was devoid of cairns and I was not 100% sure this was the correct route at first

At the head of the canyon and starting upslope. Was very surprised to not see a cairn marking the ascent, but maybe I was offroute.

Picked up the use trail about 100 yards up the slope and was able to follow it (more or less) the whole rest of the way to the summit

My instinct would have been to head directly up the slope to the right- but the use trail headed up to the low point of the ridge saddle. (In most cases skirting the lip of the gully on the left)
