Now up at the third and final Young Lake, again looking back towards Ragged Peak. There was a party on the lakeshore- the first people I had seen all day. The use trail dissapated here and I headed cross country towards white.

I had oiginally planned on heading up to the Conness/White saddle, but I had underestimated the depth of the valley that I needed to cross to get there. I decided instead to scale the ridge to the above the lakes and attack White from the south.

Heading up from the small lake, I followed the granite slabs up to the low point on the spine of the ridge. The high point on the left is not White. (White is a bit further down the ridge)
