Topo and route for today. 9.5 miles and 2k of gain out of the ghost town of Como (~9 miles back from the pavement end on Old Como Road)

The northern portion was the summit of Rawe Peak. The southern portion was me exploring some old mining/ranch roads in a unsuccessful attempt to find the continuation of the use trail I had found on the Lyon summit last week.

Back at the Como saddle crossroads. Same place I had parked for last week's summit of Lyon Peak.

From the saddle I started up this service road toward the communication structure on the ridgetop. I'd have been better off just continuing down Como Road for a bit and then taking the left fork- but I wouldn't realize that until I got up a bit higher.

Looking back at Lyon Peak from midway upslope. Too bad pretty much every picture in this area has power lines in it.

Up to the communication structure and looking at one of my 2 options over to Rawe. (Which is now visible on the right)

There was the service road under the power lines (shown here) or I could backtrack a bit and take the road marked on the Topo. I picked the latter.

*Much* clearer this week and a nice view across Carson Valley to the east rim of Tahoe. Freel/Jobs are the snowcaps on the left.

The fence of the comm structure was falling apart and someone had kicked the door in. (There were also corona bottles resting on the fencetop)

Back down from the comm tower and intersecting with the road I would have ended up on had I continued on from the saddle.

Rawe up ahead as I continued down the road. Probably could have driven this- the road appeared to have been recently used by some nearby mining operations and was in good shape.
