Looking back down from the top of the pass. Hwy 88 off to the left, and the trailhead parking lot visible amidst the trees. Round Top now visible over there on the right.

Losing a little hard earned elevation but picking up a use trail leading to the top of Red Lake Peak. That rock structure on the left is the false summit block.

First view of Tahoe today, along with a nice view of the Desolation Wilderness/Crystal Range

Approaching the false summit, which I didn't realize was a false summit.

Both the false and true summit had tons of holds, but it was all crumbly volcanic rock.

Up atop the false summit, not finding the registry and realizing my mistake. The next block over looked to be a foot or two higher.
