From the apex of the PCT I headed upslope and then up the chute in the center of this shot.  The rock was reasonably stable for volcanic terrain and routefinding not overly difficult.

Looking back down at the PCT from about halfway up the slope.  The PCT was a freeway today and I passed a number of trough hikers making their way from Mexico.  (6 or so people can be seen on the trail in the full sized version of this shot)
