Getting our orienattion lecture from the Ranger. The campground capacity at Scorpion Ranch is 240. There were a total of 9 of us here today (10 if you include the Ranger). Left to Right: Ranger Mike, Melinda and Beverly from San Diego, and John from Santa Cruz.

There was a family of 4 at the back of the campsite and we newcomers of us spread out among the remaining eucalyptus tree shaded sites. (Lots of butterflies, crows, and hummingbirds in camp). We pitched our tent, stowed our gear, and headed back to the beach to do some early afternoon kayaking.

Topo of today's routes. Blue is a quick ~3mil kayak excursion past Cavern Point. Pink is our late afternoon hike to the Campo Grande pasture. (No kayaking pictures yet, my brother had the waterproof camera and I don't yet have copies)
