 Santa Cruz Peak
One last hazy look back at Santa Cruz Peak from the McKinley Saddle and then off for the 8 mile trek back to the trailhead. I had originally entertained thoughts of bagging McKinley and San Rafael today, but the extra 6 miles was sounding mighty unappealing by this point.

Saw several of these along the trail. Either bees or hornets had nested in the roadbed mud and now were burrowing out of the ground.

The trail meandered its way back to the saddle and my car was visible in the parking lot on the way down. Hadn't seen anyone all day.
