Hit the trail around 5:30. Today was just past the longest day of the summer, so I would have plenty of sunlight. This shot is looking back a little bit up from the Cachuma Saddle. In the distance, the Santa Ynez valley was still fogged in.

The trail looped around Cachuma Mountain, which was the primary landmark for the early part of the outing. Already pretty warm and it would be sweltering later in the day.

A better shot of the fog ablove the Santa Ynez Valley and Lake Cachuma. The fog would gradually boil off as the day progressed, but was pretty thick in the morning.

Another shot of the fogbound Santa Ynez Valley. The Ynez Mountains are on the far side of the valley, and the Pacific Ocean was visible past the ridge.
