A midridge highpoint that I knew was too close to be the actual summit, but was my intermediate goal for the moment.

Spotted two young bucks on the high slope. No cows up here to complete the hooved mammal trifecta.

Long rocky pass atop the ridge. Headed up between these two bumps and then continued south on the west side of the ridge.

Once up to the ridge I was once again treated to a west side Carson Valley view. Pine Nut road approaching the peak is visible in the valley.

The summit is actually in view here, but the Siegel highpoint is just the apex of the broad rounded summit ridge. Its toward the left side of the ridge in the background.

Had to cross this valley first, but this was much easier terrain than anything I'd yet encountered and it was quick going. The summit cairn can be barely seen to the right of the leftmost bump on the ridge.

Spotted this use trail from across the plateau and angled toward it. It looped around the summit to the east.

The Siegel highpoint- not anywhere as interesting as any of the half dozen rock outcroppings on the summit ridge.
