The two marmots that had fled the summit took up residence in this crack right below. (And I assume they went right back to the summit when I left)

A substantial snow slope still present on Tallac's northern face. I think thats one of the Velma lakes in the distance. Dicks Lake is being blocked by the ridge.

Emerald Bay and Cascade Lake. There was a boat in the bay.

I entertained thought of heading back to the Glen Alpine trailhead and thus avoiding downclimbing the talus scramble, but navigating the snowfields looked to be no less of a hassle.

I could see a section of the trail in the distance, so I headed off cross country down the scree and cross the snowfields.

I passed a group of 4 Irish guys on my way down and we swapped photo services.
