The creek crossing near the sunrise trailhead was rock hoppable (unusual for this time of year) and there were a number of parties at the trailhead preparing to head to clouds rest.

Followed the far shore almost to the end of the lake.  Mosquitos were abundant, but were respecting my DEET for the moment.  This shot is looking north to where Tioga road passes by the lake.

Starting up the talus, heading toward the tree lined ledge on the upper left of the shot.  The talus was refreshingly stable after my last outing to Dunderberg.

Up on the ledge, looking up at the class 3 chute leading up to the ridgetop.  The chute was still filled with snow, so I opted for the large pile of boulders to the right.

These purple flowers were in bloom throughout this section of the park and this particular plant found a home in a small patch of dirt amidst the boulders.
