Back a few hundred yards to the trail junction and ready to begin the climb up to Tiltill.

The trail to Tiltill Valley was in pretty poor shape for a Yosemite trail and there were numerous deadfalls to navigate.

Looking over Rancheria Creek at the trail leading up the side of Leconte Point as it headed toward Pleasant Valley. I took that route last year on my summit attempt of LeConte Point.

The Rancheria Creek watershed had burned heavily since I had last passed through here in the Spring of 2004. In late late 2003 an arsonist had set the fires and then perished in the blaze.

These purple flowers were abundant along this section of the trail.

This impressive deadfall *had* gotten some recent trail mantenance. The tree was over 5 feet across and came up to my chin.

This small unnamed pond was blessedly mosquito free. On my 2004 trip I was almost eaten alive.
