Old trailsign near what may be the remains of the Little Pines camp and the upper reaches of the Rattlesnake Trail. Pretty dense brush.

Looking down at Ventana Double Cone. Near the summit now after 1 1/2 hours of miserable bushwhacking.

On the false summit looking out over the top of the Uncle Sam ridge. There was a rock outcropping on this side of the ridge that provided a much better view than the actual highpoint.

Astounding view from the top of Uncle Sam. (The picture could have used a polarizer, as the actual view was much more clear). Looking down on the Blue Rock Ridge, and beyond that Monterey Bay in the distance.
