18 miles and 5700ft of gain today out of the Hoover Wilderness' Green Creek trailhead.

This was my 4th trip out of the Green Creek trailhead, 3rd over Virginia Pass, and 2nd attempt at Virginia.

My first attempt at Virginia was way back in 2003 when I made a wrong turn and ended up in the Par Value Lakes. My last visit to the pass was a very snowy early season trip in 2009.

Virginia is on the SPS list and is the 29th highest Peak in Yosemite.

The trail dumped out onto this forest road for a bit- which led back to a series of inholdings. This section was lined with aspens and there would be numerous aspen groves along the early trail.
